Following the wave of criticism that came after the Diablo 4 2025 roadmap reveal, Blizzard's director of social and content marketing, Adam Fletcher, has stepped forward to reassure fans that there's more to come. According to Fletcher, the roadmap shown isn't the full picture and “some good surprises” are still in store for later this year.

Players voiced frustration over what they described as a “copy-and-paste” seasonal formula and a general lack of new, engaging content. Others accused the studio of losing creativity, with some even suggesting the developers are “a shadow of their former self.”

Fletcher took to Twitter to address the negativity, emphasizing that development is ongoing and that Blizzard is not done unveiling what’s planned for Diablo 4. “As we go further into the year, details get scarcer because much is still in progress,” he said.

Despite the criticisms, Diablo 4 has seen some major milestones, including a record-breaking 55,561 concurrent players on Steam after the release of the Vessel of Hatred DLC. Fans are also hoping upcoming updates will bring meaningful changes, particularly around skill trees and class balance.

As players wait for new content, many are also stocking up on Diablo 4 gold, anticipating upcoming expansions and systems that could change how items and character progression work in the long run.
